On 20 July 1866, the first major sea battle between ironclad warships occurred in the Adriatic Sea north of the island of Lissa. Although outnumbered by the Italian forces under
the command of Admiral Persano, Austrian commander Rear Admiral Tegetthoff managed a decisive victory using close-range gunfire and ramming.
Honoring the 1866 Battle of Lissa, this colorful and informative shirt is imprinted on the front with a collage of images featuring a battle scene, cameos of Admirals Persano and Tegetthoff and
drawings of the two flagships Re D'Italia and Erzherzog Ferdinand Max. The back is imprinted with an Order of Battle listing the ships of the Austrian divisions and Italian squadrons as well
as the commanding admirals.
